It gives me great pleasure writing this Gary, because of the profound changes, renewed confidence and clarity of purpose you have re-introduced back into my life.
We have been friends for a number of years now, and I have thoroughly enjoyed and received great value from all of the breakfast meetings, closed door sessions and workshops I have attended in that time as a Breakthrough Member.
I had my challenges like everyone else in business, and when things began to go pear-shaped I stepped away from B4B intending to come back when things got better. Talk about insanity. The following day Karen noticed the change in my attitude, which opened the discussion that led us to engaging Gary to coach and mentor us, a decision that should have been made long ago. For just with the first session we experienced a huge shift, and things began to happen. What a turn around, suddenly it looked like once more we had a future.
The Transformation began to take place immediately, both Karen and I feel wonderfully Renewed and refreshed, the business now being properly Equipped, which allows us to once again pursue our passion – Empowering more and more people to be rid of debt and thus able to enjoy more of life. About 18 months ago I had an introduction to Breakthrough for Life, Breakthrough for Breakfast, it was an overwhelming experience, to walk into a very large room at Telstra Dome and find so many people standing in groups chatting with each other and then this bloke with a very loud authorative voice got the groups attention and got the people to sit down at round tables. What happened after that was a new experience for me, Men and women exchanging business cards and sharing experiences and giving advice on how to handle difficult situations and different ways of approaching prospective clients.
Over the past 12 months or so I have been in regular attendance at the "Breakthrough” and now as I look back at the year that was, I have come to see how aptly the names "Breakthrough for Life and Breakthrough for Breakfast" are.
I love to start each day with breakfast, but what a delight to reserve one morning a month to have a hearty Breakfast especially with your friends and people of like mind and interests, and to look forward to meeting interesting and fascinating people. What a great nourishment for the body, what a Breakthrough.
But that is not all, there are great opportunities to help your fellow business men and women, and in helping them to achieve their goals you can become a winner. There is more to life than Breakfast, and that is supplied by the speakers who grace the podium at Breakthrough for Breakfast. i.e. Craig who spoke on fitness of body and mind, by regular exercise and sensible eating. Ron who spoke on creating wealth, Ron spoke of his personal experience of being in debt and clearing that debt, then managing his oun business to become a very wealthy business man. There was a great speaker who spoke on the advantages of having a person to mentor you, a person who will keep you on track and guide you in the direction to take to meet your goals. Stuart from The Geyer Group who opened peoples eyes and minds to what were really assets and liabilities a very good wake up call. Jim Stynes of Reach Foundation who works with under privileged or less fortunate teenagers, how we can help others to make a huge difference in their life and turn a bad start into a life well worth living. There were many more great Wednesday mornings in the open and closed sections with
brilliant speakers.

"Gary, you might sometimes wonder if anyone ever watches the DVDs you kindly provide for us after the breakfasts. I thought I'd share with you how having the DVDs has helped me add value in my business. I recently did a strategic planning workshop for senior managers in an organisation during which we referred to the 'fish philosophy'. A couple of weeks later this organisation rang me to see if I had a video about "Fish" because they were doing a presentation for their various teams and thought it would be appropriate. I didn't have the video they were thinking of, but I told them I had something better - the DVD with Pat Coop that would really help motivate and inspire their teams. The end result is they loved it.
